Anthology – Three x The Fun

Submissions are now closed!

Our third anthology is accepting submissions starting October 1!

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW. Seriously. Read everything.

Failure to follow these directions can lead to an automatic rejection.

For Anthology – year three – instead of providing a required theme, we’re just accepting stories that meet the requirements below. No theme to wall in the stories. Be rebellious in your theme!

A few other things are changing, however. The amount of words we will accept is smaller now. We want to be able to accept more stories, so we can’t take a bunch of 8k or longer stories. Our reading period is also longer. We need more time to read all the wonderful submissions!

What we’re looking for:

  • All fiction genres
  • English language stories
  • Stories that REBEL in some way
  • Authentic artists who want to be paid for their work but aren’t in it for the money (We ARE paying, btw)
  • Super Short Stories (1,500 or less)
  • Short Stories (1,500 – 7,500)

What we’re not looking for:

  • Previously published work
  • AI generated content.
  • Non-Fiction. We’re not ready for that yet.
  • Fully erotic stories. Heavy petting is cool, but not too many details…
  • Poetry will not be accepted.
  • Anything that can get you or us arrested.
  • Anything that is legal but will ruin our reputation.

We’re only accepting submissions from authors with mailing addresses in the United States at this time. No international submissions.

Payment

The publisher will contract for publishing rights. First rights are not required but preferred (contact our EIC for details about previously published work). Authors will receive no royalties for book sales but will receive a semi-pro rate (details here) for the contracting of your work as well as 2 copies of the anthology for personal use upon its release. All payments are made in US currency.

Pay rates are:

Prose: 1.5 cents per word

SUBMISSIONS – PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW. Seriously. Read everything.

Failure to follow these directions can lead to an automatic rejection.

Starting OCTOBER 1,2024:

We are a small group, but we have high standards. Bring your A game. We cannot and will not accept every submission, so STAND OUT.

Please be sure to proofread your work. Submissions with excessive typos, plot holes, or grammatical errors will be rejected IMMEDIATELY. We do not offer editing services before contracting. We want to see a polished product.

Proper formatting is required: 1-inch margins, 12 pt font, double spaced, Times New Roman only. No exceptions.

DO NOT PUT A DOUBLE SPACE BEHIND EACH OF YOUR SENTENCES. This is NOT common practice in fiction anymore and it creates a HUGE formatting headache, should your story be accepted.

Please save your file with THE WHOLE STORY NAME FIRST. You do not have to include your name in the file title, but if you want to include it, please add it AFTER the title. PLEASE!

For example – GreatStoryTCL.docx

or BetterStoryTCLewis.docx

or ThisIsALongTitleButTheyWantTheWholeTitleInTheFileName.doc

How to get selected:

After two years of reading submissions, our team has discovered a few things that help stories stand out.

  • Follow the submission guidelines. We will reject stories if submission guidelines are not followed.
  • Grab us RIGHT AWAY. Some of our favorite stories have gripping first pages.
  • Big voice and character development! Although we have no preference for POV, we love to FEEL the characters through their voice. Not just sassy or vibrant, but also well crafted subdued or shy characters who embody their personality. We also love a strong character arc, despite the word count.
  • Endings that STICK the landing! Don’t give up before the finish! Make sure your story has a powerful conclusion.

How to submit:

Complete the following Google Form – Submissions are closed

Read everything, respond to everything. Do not skip anything. If something doesn’t apply to you, answer with N/A. Make sure you upload the right file! Also, we do read the submission form. Please be respectful.

Submissions close on NOVEMBER 1, 2024 – This is a hard deadline.

We will send a mass email at the end of the submission period, letting everyone know we’ve received their story. If you’re nervous about whether we got it, please email ContactUs@RebellionLIT.com for confirmation.

We aim to have all works accepted or declined by December 30th. If we DO NOT accept your story, we will respond to your email with a form rejection letter. If you’d like feedback, feel free to contact us after receiving your rejection.

If you’re curious about the types of stories we publish and adore, check out two of our stories that have been turned into audio dramas!

Raven Queen by N.V. Devlin – Short, sweet, breathtaking in the scariest way.

The Taste of Water: Part One by Ichabod Ebenezer – Epidemic, but nothing like COVID

The Taste of Water: Part Two by Ichabod Ebenezer

WE LOOK FORWARD TO READING YOUR STORIES!

We will be collaborating with Welcome to Earth Stories again to turn stories from Three x the Fun into audio dramas. Stay tuned for more info!
